Upon taking the file out of the box I could see the lid to the file had the top half corner pushed down too far on one side and up too far on the other. It took a cloth covered screw driver to open the lid. Money better spent (for $8. 50) more from the same company (MMF Industries) the Fire-Retardant Security Chest. This also holds letter size file folders, has a better lock, and of course is fire-retardant. Wish now I had just purchased two of the better built fire-retardant flat files and not purchased the cheaper file box.
